# Brands Illustrated – MegaBrands | The Most Valuable Brands > Brands Illustrated – MegaBrands, The Most Valuable Brands, by WCRC, has two parts: MegaBrands — India's Most Powerful Brands, and Business MegaBrands — India's leading business brands. Both are WCRC research. ## About MegaBrands MegaBrands — India's Most Powerful Brands. India has no shortage of brand rankings. What it lacks is a standard. MegaBrands is that standard. Across 501 categories, one brand in each holds the benchmark — measured not on what it earns, but on the power it holds in the Indian mind. It isn't ranked against its category. It is the line its category is measured against. We read no balance sheets. Fifty parameters, market share, and above all the consumer. Three thousand brands assessed to arrive at 501, each selected against five named competitors — all of them published. From this universe, and only from it, come the 55 Industry MegaBrands and India's Most Powerful 250. No brand enters the rankings from outside. Brand Pulse scores are built every quarter, so a brand's standing is live. Open consumer voting runs alongside, carrying what India actually thinks back to the brands themselves. The first set of Brand Pulse scores, based on WCRC's Evaluation Framework, will be made live from mid-November 2026. Thereafter, all Brand Pulse and Market score additions will be based on Consumer Sentiment scoring around the category and the brand. The ambition is simple: that every brand knows what it takes to be considered great in India — and that every consumer has somewhere true to look. ## Pages - [MegaBrands — India's Most Powerful Brands](https://www.mostvaluablebrands.com/megabrands): A quarterly benchmark of brand power across 501 categories, measured on consumer perception rather than valuation. 3,000 brands assessed.
